Hi everyone!

I only have one cake this week...a skein of yarn birthday cake...which isn't due till Sunday so I've got it filled and crumbcoated and settling now. Will finish it tomorrow morning. How's it going for everyone else?

I spent most of my day getting our Christmas cards together. Years ago I started making my own photo cards and since then I've kept it up. I tried to skip it one year and got the "why no photo this year??" quickly followed by the "We always love your photos" statement. Lesson learned, photo cards from now on<G>. Unfortunately this means 80 photos and 80 cards to make followed by the usual addressing/stamping/mailing thing. But tonight the 11 yr old is at a sleepover so I'm just hanging out, catching up on missed shows and surfing online.

Fill me in on your week!

Hi Cat ,

I too just have one cake this week, It is my Sister's 60th and the party is tomorrow, I have booked the restaurant but have left the rest up to her daughter. I was actually going to do a ball of yarn for this one with a cat leaning up against it knitting from it , but I got these lovely little tins sent to me so I used them to make a mini three tier, it is a seven, five and three and a half.  So I am just going to make the cat and sit her on the top tier.

Been back and forth to the hospital a fair bit, Mum has been  moved to rehab now and hopefully should be home by Christmas all going well.

Ahhh the dreaded Christmas card list , I do a lot of them online now  , but I usually have a cute one of the dogs made up to send out to the ones I still have to post. I usually get magnetic calendars done too and pop them in the cards.

Well I better have my afternoon nap so I finish off this cake .

Have a great week.

Chelle,

The cake sounds adorable...how teeny! No cats with the yarn for this one of mine...just knitting needles sticking out. The fun one is the one I have next week...a "snow" cake with an igloo and penguins! Can't wait to do that one!

Been working on getting business plan stuff together and searching for a certified kitchen in case I can't operate out of my own.

But I am going to be working on getting a great recipe down for red velvet cupcakes and cream cheese frosting :)

And then in about 3 weeks i'll be working on a huge order for my boyfriends birthday

I have my first cake tasting tomorrow at 10:00 and 100 cake balls and a Igloo smash cake to be picked up at 2:00.  I HATE CAKEBALLS.  Thank goodness the lady that ordered them did not make me do all of them like she initially wanted.  She wanted Penguins and Polar Bears.  I told her the price of the ones decorated the way she wanted and she cut down to 25 of each and the other 50 just plain.

Colorwheel...is there a chance you won't be able to use your own kitchen??? Good luck on the red velvet recipe...I understand it's not easy.

Kblickster...I am also not a fan of cake pops...in fact, I prefer the larger cake with a big canvas to work upon to anything small like a cupcake or cake pop. But theya re very popular right now so hard to get around! Good luck with your tasting!
