Batman popping out of a cake

Hey!  I have a cake where I have to have batman coming out of cake and it looks like the fondant is peeling back.  How do you suggest I get this effect  Here is a sample of what I'm talking about.  Thanks for any help

Lauren Kitchens has a DVD about modeling chocolate that teaches this technique.

I think you would dowel batman into the top of the cake. Roll out your modeling chocolate a little bigger than the top of the cake. Cut an x and + in the middle of the modeling chocolate big enough for batman to fit through. Then lay the modeling chocolate over the top of the cake with batman coming up through the cuts in the chocolate.

I am unable to see your sample.  Is it something like this:

 

A spiced pumpkin cake with white chocolate cream cheese filling, whipped buttercream frosting, covered in rolled fondant and topped with a rice cereal treat sculpture covered in candy clay.  A birthday cake for my neice.

Thank you all so much. You were a great help. I was able to get the cake done exactly the way the customer wanted.
