Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to replicate this picture out of cake?  I am particularly unsure of the "swoosh".  Any help would be fantastic!

If I had to make this then I would make a plain iced buttercream sheet cake.  

Printed sugar sheets and a spatula through the buttercream for the swoosh.

gumpaste and use of an edible image.
