i am a start up business so i'm learning as i go. i have my first customer who wants me to deliver an hour and a half away from my shop. how much should i charge?? help!
AWe charge $1/minute round trip based on the google maps estimate, accounting for traffic. So the delivery charge for that order would be $180, more if the delivery was during rush hour.
My time is expensive, so I would charge beaucoup for a three hour trip (yes - three hours - you need to get back, too). That is three hours that I could be making money making cakes.
We charge $1.50 per mile, one-way. So if they are 100 miles away, cost is $150.00 + tax (not $300).

yes...Plus you have to take into consideration that the time you're driving could be time that you're delivering other things, so that means you'll have to turn down work if you can't coordinate deilvery tmes. Don't short yourself on delivery fees because they also make up for work that you could be doing in that time.
