It is certainly no reflection on you...but I absolutely HATE the way members photos are displayed in their profiles.  I think it should be an option as to whether you want to have them grouped into categories or not.  You should at least be able to pick which photo is chosen to represent that group.  Perhaps the newest picture posted should always take precedent over one that was done years ago. 

 

I have pictures representing a category that I cringe to see.  I would delete the pictures but if it has been saved as a favorite, I leave those alone--not because I think the world is waiting for my genius designs--  I just know I've hated it when I've wanted to reference a picture I've saved from someone and they've deleted it.    And yes, I know you can click to see 'all photos', but to me, that's just another step to take that's unnecessary.  If categories are needed anywhere, I wish it were in the 'my favorite'  personal galleries.   I've saved a ton of pictures and hate having to root through several pages to find a baby shower cake I  saved 2 years ago.  If we had categories available to use in our personal saved photos area, then I could see all the baby shower photos I've saved....or wedding...or birthday...you get the idea...and not have to spend time looking  page after page and sometimes  missing it completely.  

 

I have no problem with the ads (except when I accidentally brush my cursor over them and they pop up and start playing something).   I understand why they are there and I've actually used them.     I just think in the efforts to upgrade this site,  too much of what made CC popular was sacrificed in order to become more tech-savvy.   I feel we've lost the simplicity that made CC a welcome place for the tech-challenged home hobbyist as well as the professional.   But then as I said in an earlier post, I had the opportunity to participate in the change-over and offer opinions then, but I didn't so it's hard for me to complain too much now when I had the chance and didn't take it (not that I don't do it!   It's just harder! ;D  )   Thank you for stepping up and offering your help. 

I did not mean to imply that it took me a couple of months to get used to the new format.  As a moderator, I meant that I have been spending the time since the change working in the galleries and am familiar enough with them to help anyone who might be having trouble.

I like the suggestions you are making and do hope some of them will be implemented in the future.  

I appreciate the help people are sending to me to help find my way.  So far, it hasn't been successful, and I plan to try again when I have more time.  But this is exactly the problem.  Any site needs to be user friendly without need of instructions, and figuring out.  And while it's bad enough for those of us who have been here for a time, imagine what it's like to someone trying it out for the first time?  They won't stick around.  At least we know what the site can be and are waiting for it to be fixed, but new people will simply move on to other sites.  I hate to see that happen.

I don't know if this is one of the glitches, but it seems I'm only getting notifications of posts AFTER at least several new posts come up in the thread.  I have no idea if other threads are being posted to, this is the only one I'm in right now and the other day there were more than 6 new posts before I got a notice.  Just mentioning this in case it is a glitch and no one is aware of it.

I use to say I was addicted to to CC.  Since the changes I find I don't log on much anymore.  I do miss the old CC
 

Unfortunately, it's the same way for my friends and I.  I can't wait until it's back to working for us all.

Honestly, I am still addicted to the forums, but I don't visit the other parts of the site, at all. They may as well not be there, and I would die before I click on one of the obnoxious ads. It is constant movement, and if you run your mouse across one in the middle of the night, you better hope your speakers are off! I have made myself jump when I accidently did it.

I agree.  Do not like this new format.  I can't find anything!

yes it is being discussed daily, it is just not a simple solution, but we agree it is a critical feature that needs to be restored

WHAT HAPPENED to the search function in the galleries??  That was what I used more than anything on the site!!!!!  It was hard enough to go through all of them (thousands of Star Wars birthday cakes, as one example).  There is NO WAY I Can go through all the birthday cakes!!!

I really wish it was possible to search within your favorites. Perhaps I'm missing where you can do this. If so, I'd love to hear! It's just a pain to scroll through page after page of favorite photos when you know you saved something that would be useful, and then you scroll right past it because your eyes get tired of scrolling. :) I love how flickr.com gives the option to search the entire site, within your favorites, or within someone else's gallery. I know I have plenty of stuff faved on here that would be useful to me, but I sometimes find things hard to find. In the past few years, I've also had great trouble getting forum topics to ever come up for me when I'm doing a specific search. Not sure why this is happening either.
