What do you think of the recent changes to CakeCentral? - Page 16

cownsj,

What is that you find difficult about navigating the forums?  I generally only check the new posts which I access from the drop down on the home page, but I'll try to help if I can.

I agree-I give a list of cake sites to my students and every one of them have come back and told me how hard it is to navigate the new site.  I have posted several comments here about this but am really surprised that we do not hear anything back from the staff/creators of this site.  Are they not responsive to these comments?

we are listening to your feedback, unfortunately making overhauls to navigation is a pretty large project and so if we are going to change it again, it has to be well thought out, so we are not in a constant cycle of trial and error.

We did attempt to involve a large number of cake central community members in the beta testing phase of the new site layout but unfortunately we received very minimal meaningful feedback from that process that would have suggested we rethink the navigation.

We are actively considering how to revamp the navigation, but it will take some time for it to change.

Thank you so much for the response- apparently  no one knew what you just  told us.  I for one will be patient now that I am aware our comments are being taken into consideration.

Please, please, please bring back the sorting of the favoritesssss!! there's no point on saving favorites anymore if you'd have to look for them one by one icon_cry.gif

Heath,

I too am extremely happy to hear you are working to resolve these problems.  I miss the old site more than I can even begin to describe.

While you are looking into it, I also miss seeing under the photos of my cakes, how many comments, how many views and how many favorites.  I have managed to see two of those, but it takes different steps and the information as to how many differs from one page to another.  (Just asking about this if you are working on changing things again, this is very important to me)

Even if I can't navigate the as it is right now, I'll check back looking for a newer, more user friendly version.  And if you post it in this particular forum, it will go into my email, so hopefully I'll see it.

Thank you for listening to us.  I'll let my friends know too.

Why did it change all of the sudden? is there a home page? What about all the sponsors(even though they were distracting)? Where are the newest cake photos? That is the first place I look. this is not good.

Are you on a mobile device?  If you are not, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "desktop" tab, and see if that changes how you see the top of the page.

You need to try clicking on "desktop".  As I understand it, it's the "mobile" mode that is "cake central lite" so to speak and doesn't give you the full range of options.
