I am not sure why this happens for you.  When I run an image search using my ipad the dark lines with text show initially, but if I wait for the page to finish loading the images load in with no problem.  I am not sure what might be causing your problem other than maybe an intermittent data connection.  The site feature is testing correctly on ipads for us.

Please put back the recipe ratings...it was a very good feature .

I hate the new setup, don't spend to much time here anymore!

I think the new setup is perfectly good. It hasn't taken long to work out how things work, I like some of the new features, and I have found that the bugs haven't been too inconvenient and quickly fixed.

I really do not like the new look or set up.  Things are so much smaller.  I almost never come on CC anymore.  This is the first time in many, many weeks because I wanted to look up one of the cakes I did.  I'm a little creeped out to see "images from a community gallery" next to all the pics and over 1,000 people viewing.  I think CC has lost it's intimacy.  

Who did this new site for you? It is horriffic.  Clearly not anyone who uses it or knows what or how we use it. 

I cant search for recipies based on popularity?? I have to go thru each one individually?... and the ingredients just run on in blurred sentence form instead of a bullet format??????? how do you follow it?  Gosh, as someone else said " I hate it". 

I agree that it needed some upgrading in areas, but I think you downgraded.  Fire your programmer/ designer- it stinks.  Sorry :(

In spite of all the naysaying, the more thingsI try to do on the new site, the better I like it. I've found very few things here that, once I've figured out how they work, I don't find that they work better than before. Yes, there are still a few glitches to be ironed out, but on the whole I think it's a platform that will carry us well into the future. Thanks for all the hard work, all of you!

Been away for a while but Geez, this is not a good change.   I can't find anything I'm looking for and I am very good at navigating sites.

Please go back to the old format.

I don't like the way you have to click "more" to see new photos.  And when I click on a photo to look at it, then when I hit the back button, it takes me back to the top, not back to where I was.  I'd rather scroll though pages than keep clicking 'more' and scrolling down.   This website is annoying. It just doesn't work well or intuitively. I get the difficulties in implementing a new system, as in a former life I used to be a programmer.  But I would have been fired for implementing a program with the bugs and problems this system has had.  And I bet those problems have shown up in the number of posts and favorites on the site.  As far as I can tell, to get onto the list of most favorited cakes all you need is one or two.  That never used to be the case.  I think that is a sign of how much less people are using this site.  I know I'm here way less than before the change.  I'm saddened by it.  

Actually, the last few photos in the favorites have always only had 1 or 2 votes. That's not new. What is new - but this is a trend, not something that happened with the new platform - is that where the top photos in the favorites used to have been favorited by 200-300 people, they're now the favorites of only 30 or so. Either people are getting a lot more picky or there just aren't as many of us looking as before.

i dont like having to search for my own photos that i uploaded. we should be able to access them from the home page, not have to go to galleries to see the button which is hard to find. then when we do go into our own gallery, the photos are filed by albums, not chronologically like they used to be.  i dont like having to click on each gallery to find a cake that i know i put in there but have to search for.  and as someone else said, when you're looking through the galleries, if you click on one to make it bigger, then go back to the gallery, it sends you back to the most recent page, rather than where you left off. so aggravating. i come here far less than i did before.
 

I used to come to CC first thing every morning and check out the forum questions, look at the favorites for the day, etc. I find that I only come on the site a couple of times a week. People don't seem to be putting extra pictures of their cakes on. In the past, most cakes had 2 or 3 or more extra views, but now it seems they don't do that. Lots fewer people seem to leave comments, too. I can't put my finger on it, but I just don't enjoy the site like I used to.

From the HOME page:

1)  At the top right click on your screen name.

2)  Scroll to the bottom

3)  Click on "view all photos" which will bring you to "Your Photos"  which are contained in "PHOTOSETS" which appear in the order in which you uploaded them, most recent appearing first.  There is very little practical difference between this and the way they used to be stored except that now people can comment on individual photos within photosets.  You may also choose to view them in albums which group like themed cakes together in the order in which they were uploaded, most recent appearing first. 

Alternately, from the galleries home page you can click on "all your photos" on the upper right of the page which will take you to your photos which are sorted in albums by default.  You can, however, choose to view them as photosets which are arranged by your most recent upload.

There is absolutely no reason to be "searching" for your own photos.

Within galleries you may find it easier to open individual photos "in a new window".  When you close the new window you return to exactly where you left off in the gallery.
