I am creating a wedding cake next weekend and the bride wanted to keep her flowers from the cake forever. The color she chose (a deep purple) convinced me that as time went by, the colors would fade, fade, fade. So...she opted to purchase some beautiful hand made silk flowers - that are on a felt backing. Any ideas on how to adhere them to the cake without getting felt fuzzies all over it?

All I can think of is something florists use and it's little squares of double sided sticky things. Maybe going into your local florist and ask about it or go to a craft store and look in their adhesives aisle. This solves only one of your problems. - keeping the fuzzies off the cake. The second problem would be to find a stiff wire - coat it in florists tape, put a small hook on one end. Stick the end that doesn't have a hook into the center of each flower and secure the hook to the center of the flower. Now you have something to secure the flower to the cake with.
