Hi

Im making a kettlebell cake for a friend which is nearly a ball shape but i have no idea about the amount of fondant to cover it with..

My half ball tin is 8 inches wide so the cake when the halves are together will be about 16 inches total.

Does anyone have a method to work how much i need to cover as i wont have much use for lots of left over black fondant.
