Hello,
I usually use cookie cutters for this process but I need letters that I do not have a cutter for. What is the best way to cut out letters to put on a cake. I am making a Chanel no. 5 cake. Any advice is greatly helpful.
I always print letters in cardboard and cut them and cover them with self adhesive plastic so I can make a "mold". I use fondant with CMC, let dry the fondant for an hour or more, add a little bit of cornstarch and the I cut it! If letters are very small, I print the letters I need and place them on top of the structure where I need them to be. With a sharp object ( Like a needle or something similar) I trace the letters with pressure so they can get "marked" and dip the tip of a toothpick with food coloring to "paint" the letters. For very detailed letters or letter patterns I just print the image with edible ink! Hope this is not confusing and it helps you!
