Are you using the newest version of Internet Explorer?  I have uploaded, downloaded moved around, re-organized and deleted pictures several times and have had zero problems, I also think it has just as many "steps" as before.  The difference is it's called a "photoset" and not an "album" but it's the same thing.  Personally I am over the moon that I can easily delete any of my photos that I want no matter how many people liked them.  

I'm sorry to say that the people complaining are using really old browsers to try and use a brand-spankin new site.  If you still have problems please PM me and I'll email Steph at Huddler so she can further troubleshoot your issues.

I just noticed that if I read a thread, but do not post, just read, I am automatically subscribed to it, which means I get an e-mail every time someone posts! Also, if I am reading a thread to which I am subscribed, if I scroll to the bottom of the thread and click on "subscribed" and then click on "unsubscribe" nothing happens! I am still subscribed. I must go to my subscribed list in order to unsubscribe.

This is really annoying. I get enough e-mail as it is, I certainly don't want to get mail about threads I have only read. I much preferred the previous version of CC: if I posted, I got e-mails, if I didn't, I didn't. I could "follow" or "not follow" with one simple click. What a mess this is.

I run IE9 on Windows 7. 

I had stopped uploading photos months ago because it took forever to upload a single photo and even longer to upload detail photos under the old system.  I could spend half an hour to upload one main photo and four detail photos of the same cake.

With the new system I just uploaded two complete photosets in less than five minutes.  The ability to upload a whole photoset rather than one photo at a time is a distinct advantage, and a single click to agree to all the terms at once is even better. 

Thank you a bunch for the new system.

PS: Seeing my photos appear on the main page immediately is also a distinct improvement over the old system.  Again, thank you.

I haven't had that problem either - try going to your profile (top right corner), the 1st item listed on the left of the screen is "Edit Subscriptions".  You should easily be able to change notifications from there.

If you still get notifications after deleting the subscription to a thread, please PM me and I'll contact Huddler.

As I said, I know how to go to my subscribed list to change my subscriptions. My annoyances are:

1. In the list of subscribed (which is way too many because I am automatically subscribed just by reading a thread), one has to click on the red X and then click OK for each of the threads one wants to delete. One cannot click several and then "delete selected" as you can in Favorites.

2. Why have a link at the bottom of the thread where you supposedly can subscribe or unsubscribe but it doesn't work? It used to be so simple to follow or not follow a thread - at the thread.

I'm using Windows 7 and Firefox 16.

I browsed here for many months before finally joining so I do notice some changes but I'm not finding them all that difficult. I despise the rollover cupcake vineyard ads that are in place right now but other than that, I find this place to be very user friendly and easy to navigate. Then again I quit using IE a LONG time ago because it was a such a buggy pain in the butt so that may have something to do with it. If you havent switched to Firefox or Chrome by now, I strongly suggest you do so. You can import all of your bookmarks over and everything and the functionality of both browsers is superior to IE.

Also, if you go into your profile and set your main setting to never subscribe to threads, then you wont be auto subscribed to any just like it is on any other forum. You'll have to choose which ones to subscribe to on a thread by thread basis only.
 

please tell me how i can find my SAVED PHOTOS..cant find them anywhere

shannycakers ... go to where all the TABS are( HOME,RECIPES , GALLERIES ....and so forth) the last TAB  says  MY FAVS  put your "cursor" there and a drop menu comes down, click on one of your choice!    Good luck!

I personally do not see the point in letting people save pics to their favs if the owners of the pics can delete them.  I never delete my photos once they have favorites and when I save pics to my favs it is normally to go back and look through my favs for ideas.  Not necessarily to COPY the cakes but to get ideas on different color schemes, techniques or certain aspects of cakes.  What is the point in me saving them if there is a chance they will be deleted later on down the line?  SMH Some of the changes to the site are good but some just make no sense.

I am not sure where to go, but I have been having alot of trouble logging in. I have not been on the sight for awhile and when I tried to log on, there was no place to do it. I got here through an e-mail from cake central. Could someone please help me. I really want to start visiting the sight again. Thank you.

Hi debbek152.  When you go to cakecentral.com site, in the upper right hand corner is a "Login" tab.  Place your cursor over that tab and you get a drop down box to login.

When you hit new photos, you will see above the pictures "me".  If you click on that your pictures will come up.
 

I'm wondering if there needs to be some better instructions or clarification of the Photo Uploading Process.  As I scan through the Newest Gallery each day I have noticed Loads of photos uploaded into the wrong categories.  I'm just wondering if something is being missed in the process.   "Miss Filing" for lack of a better term, photos makes them more difficult to find during searches.  Also I've noticed Loads of Miss Filing when you click to enlarge, get more info, on a new photo to the right there is the members info and under it is what's called "Detail Photos"  which I believe should be more photos of the same cake, but often I see more photos of totally different cakes, all uploaded by the same member.

Hope all that makes sense.  Something is getting missed by members uploading their photos.  Pretty soon the sight will be like a huge misfiled library.  LOL

Anyhow that is my 2 cents of recent observations.

CC  you need to make the uploading process simpler or easier to understand.  Something isn't being explained well and people are not understanding the process well.

I love to look at the new uploads during the day and I see this a lot. 

New weirdness: I left a comment (the first one) on a photo yesterday afternoon. I looked this morning and there were 9 comments but none of them were mine. It also indicated that the cake is not in my favorites, although I had put it in yesterday. Then I went to my favorite photos and the cake was there - five of them! Not only was that photo duplicated many times, but all of my favorites were, so now instead of 230 favorites I have 942! I thought maybe my browser (Firefox) was having a fit, so I exited, reopened, went back to Cake Central and, yes, everything was still screwed up. Did they not put this site through beta testing before making it live? What a disappointment. Supposedly we should be thrilled with all of the improvements. So far, I haven't noticed any.
