Marble cake is traditionally chocolate and white or yellow swirled together. Make white or yellow cake batter. Make chocolate batter. put some of both in pan. swirl. Bam - marble cake.
When you make your yellow or white batter - before you pour it in the pan, remove about 1/2 to 1 cup of it. Add to that some UNsweet cocoa powder - I never measured it, just added until it was dark enough to suite me, then drop that batter in by spoonfuls. Take a fork and draw it through the batter the length, then the width of the pan 2 or 3 times - no more!
