How much batter to put in cake tins

Hi I've been wondering how much batter to put into cake tins can anybody help me plz

It depends on your recipe and how much your batter rises. Some of my tins I fill halfway and others 3/4.

It shows you how many servings, how much batter per 2" pan, and even how much buttercream you need - I refer to this all the time.

It is sooooo messy to measure batter by the cup :(

It is much easier to fill a pan 2/3 to 3/4 full.

Over time one will learn how much batter that equals - like most Wilton shaped pans, a 10x2" round, an 8x2" square (and maybe others I can't remember right off) use the batter of one box cake mix  --- OOPPPSS

that was before the stupid companies decided to decrease the amount of cake mix in each box :( 

Now the charts are going to have to be re-done!
