What Should I Do With Sticky Cupcake Tops?

I froze about 5 dozen cupcakes and took them out of the freezer this morning to decorate this afternoon. I took the wrappings off right away as I had read other do here, but now the tops are kinda gummy and sticky! I think the buttercream will slide right off. What should I do to the cupcakes? Sprinkle with powdered sugar or something or just let them continue to sit out and maybe they will "dry out"?
I need to deliver these tomorrow for a kids Halloween party. Help!!

Let them sit out--it should only take an hour for the tops to dry off.
