Isomalt cake decorations

I will be making a wedding cake soon with a "deep sea" theme. I am making coral using isomalt sticks -- some will go on the cake itself, but much of it is going below the cake stand with battery LED lights shining out from underneath. Directions for isomalt say not to put the decorations on cake until very late, but I want to have the cake decorated well ahead of time. The reception is not until late afternoon/early evening. My question, how early can I put them on and not have them dissolve or be ruined? Can I put them on, say, at noon?

Oh yes, you'll be fine. I wouldn't put them on days before, but hours before is not issue. I made a ballet cake and put them on the night before. It was picked up the next day for an event that evening and it was fine. No issues whatsoever.
