Where to purchase fondant / sugarpaste online?

Hi,

I make and decorate cakes as a hobby, it's growing and people are starting to ask me to make stuff. I live in Denmark and Fondant etc is not easy tog et here and it's very expensive. I want to make some largish orders online, but there are soooo many places you can buy stuff I don't know what is best - you often pay more for the postage than the actual stuff!!

Does anyone have experience with ordering fondant etc internationally for a good price?

I've never ordered it online but I think it is much easier and cheaper to make it yourself. Plus it tastes much better. I found a marshmallow fondant receipe on here which is my old reliable

I agree marshmallow fondant is so EASY & CHEAP to make. An unlike online vendors who add all kinds of chemicals to their fondant. Marshmallow fondant only has, 16 ounces of Marshmallows, 1 tbs of water and powder sugar. You can add a stick of crisco to make it more sturdy.

But if you want to go with your original plan.

Satin Ice is a Popular fondant to use. I seen buddy use it even on cake boss

Try Caljava.com. They have frequent sales on Fondx fondant.

If you have to buy internationally, buy from the country of manufacture.

In other words, if the fondant is made in the UK, then buy from a UK vendor. DO NOT buy fondant that goes from the US to the UK to you because the taxes and duties and shipping will make the price much higher.

And if you can find a Canadian online vendor who sells Canadian made fondant, you can import it duty free under a Free Trade agreement--as long as there is a certificate of origin included with the other customs paperwork.
