Heaven Sent Answer To My Cricut Nightmares!

I bought a Cricut mini machine about a year ago and played around with it for several weeks with less than pleasant results. I never could get anything to cut cleanly and I tried MMF, numerous brands of premade fondant, gumpaste, etc. So I stuck it in a box and forgot about it - writing that money off as wasted. About two weeks ago I purchased a Jennifer Dontz DVD called Fun with Fondant Frills and I made the recipe for her Pearl Clay. I got to playing around with the Pearl Clay today and decided to drag out the Cricut to see how it would cut and it is AMAZING!!! I greased my mat, rolled out the Pearl Clay on it, fed it into the Cricut, cut the most intricate design I could find, popped it in the freezer for a few minutes and then used my little spatula to pull it up off of the mat and it worked so wonderfully! I had to share this wonderful discovery because seriously, my Cricut has been a paperweight for a year and now I get to use it!!! YAY!!! Yippeee!! Thank you Jennifer Dontz!!!
please share her recipe!
Its included when you buy the DVD - I don't think it is right to share the recipe - I am sure if Jennifer wanted it out in the public forum she would have posted it on here herself
Cakemaker2, I think what ApplegumPam is trying to say is that the recipe is copyrighted, so I'm unable to share it with you. Sorry about that, but I have to say that it is well worth the money for the DVD that includes the recipe. And I am so thrilled with how it performs with my Cricut, I'm shopping online for more cartridges.
I've pppurchased the cricut cake n also with no luck n also stored it...I luv Jennifer Donts. She's the best ....I do have her DVD n made pearl clay delishes ...but? How did u roll it to make it go thru the machine without germ shiny alot at
Am sorry I didn't notice I didn't make sense....am askn how did u get the pearl clay to roll out on the mat for the cricut? Since u can't play with the clay so much bcuz it gets shiny quickly
I applied it exactly like I did fondant - crisco the mat, roll the pearl clay out very thin. I stuck it in the freezer for a few minutes and then cut. I didn't have any problems with shinyness.
thk you so much, i will try it this weekend !!! i took feel as if i lost money in storing the cricut cake in the closet for a long time.... crossing fingers
