So I have an idea that I am trying to figure out how to do and I don't have time to take a modeling class.
I have a request to make a Giraffe cake for my cousins boy who is turning 4.
I have seen some great ideas and the one that I am most interested in is to create just a Giraffe neck and head coming out of the top of the cake. I think to be somewhat realistic it would have to be sitting at an angle but I am not sure how to support it while it is drying. Do I build it on a wire?

I make these kinds of decorations the day before, so that they have at least 18 hours to harden. I also make them thick enough to insert toothpicks or wooden skewers into the bottoms (while they are soft), so that they can stand up on the tops of the cakes once they do harden.
