Leather looking fondant??

I was asked to make a cake similar to this one, which is fine except im not sure how to make the fondant look like leather or how they did the silver bordering? any help would be great icon_smile.gif

The brown on the cake was probably done with a impression mat, and the border rope can be down with a clay extruder...using the disc that looks like a clover, then twist it to look like a rope.
