cupadeecakes - Thank you! =) =) And as for the program, I used Final Cut Pro on my Mac. It was a family Christmas present to ourselves last year, since my husband is in charge of doing the old home videos for his parents. So I was just lucky that it was available to me. It was my first time using it, but it was so easy! But it's pretty pricey. Personally, I don't remember spending the $300 it is, but my husband remembers otherwise. Guess I wasn't listening too closely... =)
WeezyS - Hi WeezyS! I'm so glad you liked the video! =) For your questions:
1) I didn't attach the boards directly to each other, I just wrapped them in that silver wrapping. It's the Wilton Fanci Foil Wrap. It comes in rolls like wrapping paper.
2) For this cake, I was using Crisco to attach the fondant pieces. I usually just use a little bit of water, but I was in a huge hurry and didn't want to have to worry about accidentally using too much and having it "weep" all over. And yes, water or Crisco will both work to attach fondant decorations to frosting.
However, if you're referring to the large bows and ribbons, I was using melted fondant. Not the ideal "glue" as it gets baked and useless pretty quickly, but I needed it to be dairy free. My ideal "glue" for large pieces is Wilton's candy melts. They are AWESOME as glue. And yes, you can do the same thing on a frosting cake. Just be gentle. =)
