I officially started my at-home cupcake business- ABCupcakes. I am selling cupcakes by the dozen and also cake pops by the dozen. I currently have the cupcakes priced at $25 for "regular" and $30 for specialty. My cake pops are priced $18 per dozen. Are these prices the normal? I'm in central Ohio if that makes a difference. I also want to sell in a store that my mother in law owns. I want to sell cupcakes individually and I've seen people putting the 9 ounce cups and bags with a ribbon- would that be okay? and I have been interested in the cake push pops. Are those okay for retail? I've never seen them around here but I don't know if they seal properly or anything. Also, any tips that anyone has for getting your name out there or any tips in general, I'd really appreciate all advice!

The best way to price your products is to determine your cost then add a markup for your profit. What is your total cost for a dozen cupcakes and cake pops, including ingredients, labor (your hourly wage), and allocated overhead (insurance, utilities, license fees, etc.)?
If you are selling in someone else's store that is considered wholesale, you would need to research your state's home baking regulations to see if wholesale is allowed.
