I have been asked to do a cake for 150 people. It is for an event to honor missing Aboriginal women. I was asked to incorporate the logo in some way. I need some ideas on how I should do this cake, the theme is a movement for change. The customer pretty much said do whatever I want. I was thinking maybe a 3 teir. I attached the logo, Please help![/img]

maybe a waterfall cascading down the tiers - water being powerful, cleansing and the colours of the logo fit well with a watery theme

3 tier cake say maybe 14"-12"-10" This will work as stair steps when stacked without any spacers.

Work logo same size as top tier onto a circle of dry gumpaste with small beads underneath to hold it slightly above cake surface.

Is it respectful to print out the names onto edible sheets so that you can wrap them around the middles of the cakes in ribbons? Then the symbolic images can be added above and below, and to the cake board.

What names would you use. I would first look into the group.
If it's the group I have read about, I believe the slogan is "Sisters in Spirit"
The organization believes there are over 500 missing women.

I referred to the names of the 500 missing women. That';s why I asked if it was respectful to use them that way.

You can't put all of the names because they are not available for public release. Their website says,

Quote:
Quote:

"Because we do not have permission from every family, NWAC cannot provide you with the names or photos of every missing or murdered Aboriginal woman or girl. The images that we do have
permission to use are available on the NWAC website at www.nwac.ca."

I don't think putting only some names is effective

What shape cake will you be making to feed that many people?

This is a great logo - very graphic. I'd go with a graphic style cake. Four tiers (7,9,11,13 rounds) each tier a different shade of blues or white. You could cover each tier with a different pattern keeping with the style of the logo. Stephen Bennison or Lindy SMith cutters would be great for this.

Website slogans suggested for Oct 4 vigils

Aboriginal women are loved and valued
Where are our women?
We remember
Forever in our hearts
We will never stop looking
Aboriginal women deserve more
End violence against Aboriginal women
Justice for the families of missing and murdered women

I like round better and would try to find another graphic element.
But hope this starts your mind cooking.

Please don't forget to get a Cree version, as well as some other First Nations text if you can find a reliable interpreter.
