Does anyone know a talented graphic designer they can refer to do a business package? I'm looking for logo design, stationery, web graphics/iconography, etc.

Thanks!

Just look them up in your area and interview them. Find one that understands you and more important... you understand them. Then look at their work and finally, make sure the person is in your price range.

you can look up the local chapter of the Ad Fed (advertising federation of america) and see their member list. Depending on what you want to spend, you may want to seek out a Jr. Ad Fed (Ad2) where more youngin' looking to build their portfolio would be looking for freelance work. These days, almost anyone who has poked around an Adobe program can call themselves a designer, so looking at designers who are interested in professional development through organizations like AdFed will usually get you a higher quality of work.

Look on Etsy.com, there are a lot of people who do graphic design, and you can see a good number of examples of their work in their shops before you contact them.

The graphic designer that did my logo is pretty awesome. She does great work for a reasonable price. An is also a really great artist. If you don't already have a concept she can be of great help creating one. Her names Jessica Reyes an she can be contacted at Jessiswhoiam@gmail.com

If you are looking at interviewing a number of graphic designers in your area (as SCP advised), I would be getting a cost estimate before engaging them in design work and interviews etc. After all, when WE deal with a client, often they want to know a ballpark figure before proceeding with a consultation etc. And pretty much all bakers here on CC have experienced the shocked enquiree backing out when they realise their champagne tastes and beer budgets to not align with most custom caker's business models! Rather get a ballpark figure before wasting anyone's time!

Secondly, be careful of Etsy-listed 'graphic designers'. There have been several businesses in the past 6 months who have been caught out on-selling Vistaprint stuff (in which they have essentially just filled in a client's details) and charging ridiculous fees. Even claiming the art work is their own!! Etsy (the organisation) does not stop this from happening so its really a case of buyer beware.
