Bride just called wanting a life size football helmet cake for her grooms cake she sent me the helmet dimensions 13'L 9 1/2 W 10"H . Does anyone know about how many serving this will feed never made a football helmet but was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to what size cakes they use to carve a "life size helmet" and how many it will serve. I know everything would depend on the carving but I have now idea how many serving to charge her for since i have no round about figures to start with. Please help wedding in two weeks.

I would say a lifesize helmut will feed about 20-25..I charge $6.00 a serving for my cakes but it really depends on how intricate etc...My 3D cakes start at $150.00 and go up so I wouldn't charge any less than that for a 3D cake..10 inch rounds stacked and carved should give you a good size helmut.

Well if we were talking about a cube that size, it would be 102 servings at 12 cubic inches (2x2x3") each (13 x 9.5 x 10 divided by 12). Envisioning that cube and the cake side by side, how much cake do think is missing? I'd say half a most.

That's a little bigger than lifesize...it sounds like 5 sheetcakes 9x13 stacked up. You will have to use a layer of cardboard in the middle and dowels underneath for support.
