I'm making a birthday cake for my friend's daughter and they bought rolls and rolls of this stuff to decorate centerpieces and favors.
They have so much of it left over that they asked that I adorn the cake with it. Not the cake board, but the cake itself! (not all 3 tiers, just the middle tier) I'm not used to using many inedible materials on my cakes and I've seen bling ribbons used as borders at the base of each tier but I've never seen it cover an ENTIRE tier. Obviously, they would have to remove it before serving it to their guests.
Do any of you have any experince covering an entire cake with non-edible bling? Can you share some tips for pulling this off? If you have pictures to share that would be awesome too! Do you just paint the back of the bling with piping gel and adhere it to the cake?
