Hi there. I've been asked to make a Super-Yacht cake for a client and have never made one before.
I'm ok with carving normally but I'm slightly worried about making sure that there is enough on the base so that it doesn't fall over in transit etc. Also, on the top is a super-structure which is the bit where the captain sits etc - if anyone has any advice as to how to make this it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Liz

What if you were to make the yacht look like it was in the water? Use a larger cake as the water and then only a few inches of what is above the water would be the yacht. That would give you the base and stability you need while also letting you concentrate on the details of the top few decks of the yacht. Just a thought (never made one but sure I will be tasked ti someday as we live in a Navy area).
