I've got a six tiered buttercream cake coming up next week and three of the tiers are styrofoam dummies. I've never worked with dummies, but I was thinking that I could just apply the buttercream straight to the dummies and smooth just like a real cake. Is that how everyone does it or is there something I need to do to the styrofoam before applying the buttercream? I would hate for my buttercream to slide off or a similar disaster! Thanks for any advice!
