I'm getting ready to use my cake safe for a wedding cake this weekend. I'm hesitant to completely stack the cake since the top tier is a 4 inch round. I'm afriad the center metal dowel might split that small of a tier. Does anyone else have experience with a small top tier? I'm thinking of just stacking the three bottome tiers in the safe and adding the fourth tier on site.

If you're worried, listen to your gut. And also, by adding the small top tier when you get to the venue ,you'll be covering up the hole made by the center dowel so you won't have to worry as much about covering it with a topper or something.

Thanks, I need to learn to trust my own instincts.

I have done a 4" with no problem. But, like you said, stick to your gut so you aren't stressed the whole way there. icon_smile.gif
