Adding shine to gumpaste flowers

Hello,

Im making gumpaste/fondant roses (50/50) as cupcake toppers for a bridal shower. The roses are white and I would like to add some disco dust to add some bling but the rose itself needs some shine. What do you recommend? Should I steam the rose first and then add the disco dust? Should I use confectioners glaze and then add the dust? Or do I add the dust and then steam or use glaze??

Please helpicon_smile.gif

Hi,

I have used Pearl luster Spray on some of my roses one time and they came out nice any shiny. Maybe you can try that, test it first to see if you like the look. You mught like it and not have to use the Disco Dust at all.

Good Luck

I just did this a couple of days ago. PME makes a clear spray that seals, protects and shines. It cost me 14.99 at my local cake store. I didn't have time to order online. Fondant Source might sell it they sell the color sprays by PME.
