Hi Everyone-
I have a wedding coming up and the bride wants her cake to look similar to the wedding cake of the DC Cupcake owner, Katherine.
It looks like square cake dummies with cupcakes "glued" to the side.
Has anyone ever done this before? I figured we'd stick toothpicks in the dummies at an angle and push them on that way.
Does anyone have a better way to secure them?
Thanks so much!!

Hi,

You have the right idea about how to secure the cupcakes using toothpicks. But, the DC Cupcake ladies use a toothpick that is plastic and much more sturdier than the regular wooden ones. So, I would do a search for those and use them instead icon_smile.gif

Good Luck

I agree with msthang that you need something sturdier than the average toothpick. I've used short wooden skewers with success, and plastic skewers that are pronged on both ends.

Good luck!
