Hi Everyone,
I am going to be making some cupcakes for a baby shower, and the theme is Noah's ark, so i wanted to top each one with a mini sugar cookie decorated with royal icing. I have used royal icing transfers on cupcakes before, and the buttercream made the royal icing go soggy. I am wondering if anyone has put cookies on their cupcakes and if it has worked? Any tips?? please help!

Well, I've put buttercream on sugar cookies many times, so I can't imagine there would be any problems putting the cookie on the buttercream. Good luck!

It depends on how long the cookies sit on the buttercream. Overnight would be OK. But assembling two days ahead of the party will soften the cookies somewhat.

Thanks for the responses. I think my main concern is the royal icing on the cookies.I will just assemble them right before the shower to try and prevent anything from happening.
