I am quite new at this and I just wanted to know if anyone has ever mixed icing flavors on separate tiers? I have a wedding cake next weekend and one of the tiers is to be red velvet. The other two are chocolate and yellow. Would it be odd to icing the red velvet with a crusting cream cheese icing and do the other two in regular buttercream? I have never seen this discussed before on here and was wondering if it just isn't done or it is just a given practice. Any comments or help would be appreciated!

if you can get the colors and textures to come out the same, why not? I personally like to keep the outside all the same and just do cream cheese as the filling on the red velvet.
