Hello, I am trying to make gum paste roses. I think I know why but the gum paste is very very soft and sticky. I am using satin ice gum paste. I have colored it red very red with Americolor red. Could this be why it is so soft and sticky.??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Brenda

sounds like you just need to add a bit of powdered sugar to stiffen it back up, wrap it up and let it rest.

Please let me/us know your adding sugar went. I don't know if it's because I'm in the Caribbean, but i find Satin Ice to be SO SOFT ....

Hello, thank you all for responding. Not sure if adding sugar was the right thing to do. Either I added to much or it's because I had to add so much red. The gumpaste went hard on the outside but still sticky inside. Not sure what is going on so I think I will start over with a new batch. I have made about 10 roses already this hasn't happened before. Thank you all so much for your advice.
