Making a pitchfork, any ideas??

Hello all you experienced cake artists!

I am trying to figure out the best way to create a 3D pitchfork that will be held by a "Hello Kitty Devil" (don't ask...). The hello kitty will be a full body, laying flat, but I need to create a pitch fork that is sticking up which will be holding mini $$. See attached drawing...

Kitty will be covered in fondant and disco dust for the glittery dress!

If anyone has any suggestions on what would be a good skeleton for the pitchfork, I would GREATLY appreciate it!

Maybe a bamboo skewer with floral wire wrapped around it for the side tines of the fork?
