I have been asked to make a cake of a nutria holding a beer can for a groom's cake. For those of you who don't know, a nutria is a LARGE rodent that has become a nuisance in the Louisiana swamps. As a result many people hunt them. The bride wants to give this to the groom as a surprise. I'm thinking that is not such a good idea. Anyway, the question is how to make the fur look fluffy. I could make the body like you would for a dog but around the face it needs to stick out more.

That was fondant/candy clay. If you are using buttercream I'd go with a grass tip.
