Tangled tower suggestion please!

I was just hopeing to hear from all of the wonderfull CC'ers out there that have created there own tower for a tangle cake. If you have anything that you think would help me I would love to hear from you. What you would or would not do again, pictures, anything at all icon_wink.gif

I would use RKT to make the tower and then cover with fondant

Is the tower a part of the cake or is the cake the tower? If it's the later, I would think you could use a center dowel that goes into the board and layer 2 layers cake, board, over and over to get your height. You would have to use support in the layers besides the center support.

HI!
I'm very inexperienced but have made two Tangled cakes. I placed the tower on top of a 8 or 9" round cake. I used ice cream cones, "glued" with Royal icing butt to butt to create the tower. I covered it with grey fondant rocks. I used a waffle type ice cream cone for the pointy tower top. I used a dowel threaded through the tower to secure it to the cake..but it wasnt as sturdy as I'd like. There is a picture in my gallery I think. There are many experts here and some have made some beautiful Tangled cakes, they might have better ideas and tips for you. Best of luck!
