Hi everyone,

I had a request to make a hay bale cake (fruit cake) for 29 Sept. But they want the cake to be covered in fondant. How am I going to make the fondant look like straw? All the cakes on CC is done with BC. Any ideas? Please help asap!!

Thanks

Elda

The easiest way would be to use an extruder. Makin's clay extruder is the best(in my opnion).

Check out this cake, I thought the corn field was superbly well done, maybe PM or comment on the pic to ask the maker how it was done?

Could you roll the fondant a little thicker than normal and "rake" lines into it with a fork or other tool?
