Attaching fondant pearls

I'm looking to make at cake that has an a large area of it covered in fondant pearls but for the life of me I can't see how I could properly secure the pearls on the side! I'm having nightmares of them skittering all over the floor at the slightest nudge. Any ideas?

Typically I will simply attach using small dabs of thinned royal icing. It works great for me. An alternative would be to make a glue out of tylose & water and use that to attach them.

Yep, royal is the best but piping gel works too. I apply it in 3" or so patches and apply the pearls with my whole hand. Do NOT try to apply them one by one! icon_smile.gif

Thanks so much! I'll give the piping gel a go.

I have found that they roll around more with the piping gel and stick right away with the royal icing

Oh really? Is it the same with mix royal icing as scratch royal?

Dabs of melted white chocolate/candy melts works too.

There. Their. They're not the same.

I hope I die before "your" becomes the official contraction of "you are."
