Shimmer Effect On Cream Cheese Italian Buttercream
Decorating By idgalpal Updated 18 Aug 2012 , 3:31pm by costumeczar
I have a bride who wants a a shimmer effect on her wedding cake. The frosting is cream cheese italian buttercream. What would be the best way to achieve this?
I don't think I can brush it on. Could I mix some sort of shimmer dust in?
Thanks in advance!
I'd just use a pearl spray, PME is expensive , I have just tried out the wilton one and it is not bad and a fraction of the price.
It will change the tsate of the icing, though, I had a client tell me that she got a birthday cake somewhere that had the shimmery buttercream, and it tasted so bad from the spray that nobody would eat the icing. I personally wouldn't do a shimmer on that kind of icing.
