Hey there icon_biggrin.gif

I really really want to make the wine bottle and crate cake for my stepdad's 55th birthday in a couple of weeks. The only problem is that I hate the thought of spending all that time/money using fondant to make the bottle and crate because who really wants to eat hard, dried out fondant? I know I sure dont! Now, if the bottle and crate were chocolate, I'd be all over that! LOL! I managed to find a chocolate wine bottle at a local chocolatier but I'm a little stuck at how to make the sides for the crate. I am wondering if anyone has attempted this that might be able to give me some pointers? I have even considered using chocolate fingers or kit kat bars using the flat bottom for the outside but I dont think these are going to give me the effect I want.

If there's someone out there that can help me with this I would be very grateful icon_smile.gif
