A friend wants a simple white wedding cake with a silver fondant ribbon around the bottom of each tier.. I have never made anything silver on a cake and am not sure what to use to do this.. can anyone offer any advice to me on how to do this?

Thank you!

You could try the Americolor air brush silver. I've not used it, but the link below, which is a local store for me, has a picture with what I can only assume is the product. You could spray the ribbon, and then put it on the cake. If you don't have an airbrush, you can also paint with airbrush colours,

i would start with a grey the depth or a bit lighter than you want, then either dust it with silver luster dust or for more impact paint it with a sliver luster dust/vodka paint.

If you use black fondant for your ribbon strip - and brush it with SuperPearl it will go a lovely silver.

I have some examples on my Flickr page

Actually IF you click on the Cookies folder of my FB page you will find them too
