hi all
i am making a welcome home cake for my new niece for a bbq on saturday, and i am making booties for the top of the cake. i am new to cake decorating. i am making the booties out of regal ice mixed with edible cmc and wondered if you can make the booites 2 days before the cake is being made so they dry completely. and how do i keep them fresh until saturday?

You can make these days, even weeks ahead of time. After they've dried, just keep them some place dark and cool. A cardboard box works best.
You don't really have to worry about them being fresh, because they're not going to be eaten.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
