I have to make this dude out of fondant:

Any suggestions on how to get the yellow designs to stand out on the blue fondant? I've never tried painting with gel colors on fondant that wasn't white. will that work or in there a better, more creative way to do it? (or even not all that creative... I haven't slept in over 30 hours, so I could be missing the obvious )
Thanks so much!

Yep...get your exacto and start cutting the designs out of yellow fondant. make a template first. Print it to size. Painting on blue fondant with gel color will get you a see-through greenish color. Good luck!
ugh...I was afraid of that. He has to be pretty small, so that should be interesting Thank you!
You can also pipe it on with royal icing, or mix yellow gel with white icing color (don't thin with vodka). Practice on a scrap first.
Yep, I would definitely pipe the white and yellow onto the blue. If you use a #1 tip, it won't have too much depth. Cutting all that out will be WAY too much work.
