While I am a big fan of cake that looks like a different food group (the pancake stack, french fry cake, cheeseburger cupcakes), here's a few different ideas too - and the galleries have mega-more in each category!

this is a fondant cake with different color rings

this is a tie-dye inside with M&M decorated outside. you can vary the color scheme on the outside. Buttercream, no fondant

A hero sandwich made from angelfood cake as a starting point with fondant and coconut lettuce.

Have fun!

Take away the baby stuff and I like the argyle design.

I've always loved this cake - I think it's the most elegant, yet manly cake I have ever seen.

The choice of colors and the structured, yet random geometric pattern is so unique. No frills, no flair, but probably not easy to pull off.

I like the argyle cake, I know my husband would love a cake like that!

I was picturing a square cake in a darker color, with maybe stripes (pinstripes?) for decor. I can't find a picture of anything like I have in my head though!

Here is one that has the stripes with it. I'm not too crazy about the circles. I love argyle designs on cakes.

This is a cute color combo with chocolate as a base color.
