I'm making a handbag cake in a couple of weeks and really want to make a crocodile skin type, does anyone have any tips on how to achieve it?

For an animal skin effect on a cake, I recommend modeling chocolate. It can be textured with an impression mat. It can be scored, weathered, or scrathed to look like leather.
