Quilling With Modeling Chocolate?
Decorating By cake4mygirls Updated 10 Aug 2012 , 12:24am by cake4mygirls
I thought I'd attempt quilling for my next cake. My kids always want to eat my gum paste decorations but hate the taste.
So I'm wondering if modeling chocolate will harden enough to work?
Can I mix gum paste and modeling chocolate 50/50 to improve taste?
thank you for your help.
I've done quilling and I like my pieces to be dry and easily handled for placement. Although I'd like the taste of modeling chocolate, I wouldn't do it. I think the sticky nature of the modeling chocolate would make it stick to itself and to my quilling too.

Modeling chocolate mixed 50/50 with fondant will dry hard enough to hold its shape and it won't be sticky. And it will taste much better than gumpaste!
