I have a friend who loves my cakes but my buttercream frosting she dies for anyways last week was her birthday i made her a cake but she just called asking if I can make a small batch of frosting so that her mom can try the frosting that she just loves she said she froze a few slices of her birthday cake so her mom can try that too but the cake will be old and dry by friday wont it? My question us should i make a very small say 6 inch cake and send it along with the batch of frosting? Thing is her mom lives 4 hours away i was thinking of frosting the cake than hot glueing it in a card board box than taping up the top. She didnt ask for cake just the frosting that i have just perfected but i really dont want someone eating week old cake . What do you guys think i should do? Thanks ahead of time icon_biggrin.gif

How about you ask her if she would like you to send along a cake?

It's nice of you to consider baking a cake to send along with the Frosting, but sometimes it is also best to just give them what they asked for.

Oh sorry i did ask her if she wanted me to make a cake to send along she was concerned about it moving around thats why i thought of gluing the card board cake round into a snug fitting box.
