I am looking for a recipie for the old fashioned white wedding cake that was typically served during the late 1970's. It was a heavier cake, maybe a pound cake, typically with a white buttercream frosting. I have done searching and cannot seem to find a definitive answer. It could possibly be considered a white buttermilk pound cake. ANY IDEAS???????? I have been searching for over a year. Thank you in advance for your help!!!!!

This could be any number of things. If I were you, I would start looking through older cookbooks. The Joy of Cooking was very popular back then. I just picked up a 1975 edition a few months ago from a used book store.
