stripey cake

Could anybody please tell me how I do the stripes as in this cake

Do I need to graduate them from the bottom towards the centre or do they just stay the same width all the way up. Hope this makes sense.

They're the same width all the way up. Just cut the strips, then lay them down. You'll love it; it's so easy!

Do you need to finish away from the middle if you keep them all the same width as in the picture?

Depends on what you want. In this pic it is finished right under those little balls so you don't see the trimming!

Thanks. That is what I was trying to say, if I take the strips to the centre - if this is possible - would I have to angle them inward but, thinking about it logically of course I would icon_lol.gif
I am going to try this new technique for my husbands birthday cake in couple of weeks. I will post a picture.
