Hello!

I have a 150 portions cake to do for saturday (august 4th). I've bought pettinice fondant. It's pretty hot and humid right now, and I can't roll it!! It sticks on the surface, even if I use icing sugar, and if I try to lift it it strechs a lot!!! How can I prevent this????

I'll cry if i can't do it!! That's for someone else and I NEED to achieve it!

PLEEAAASSSEEE HEEELLPPP MEEE!! icon_sad.gificon_cry.gif

hope I'll have a very quick answer...

thx!!! icon_cry.gif

Do you have air conditioning? turn it down to 70, that may help.

corn flour (cornstarch) may also help instead of using powdered sugar (confectioner's sugar). Don't use too much or it will cause cracking.

I use cornstarch to roll my fondant on. Maybe that will help instead of sugar.

1st....BREATHE! there IS an answer icon_wink.gif

2nd...yes, adding more sugar will make it stickier.

use the cornstarch or even use shortening. from what i know pettinice is pretty soft/stretchy like you said. you MAY want to get some Wilton fondant and just mix some of that in to get it workable (50/50)...along with a bit more shortening.

GOOD LUCK!
