Hello!
I have a 150 portions cake to do for saturday (august 4th). I've bought pettinice fondant. It's pretty hot and humid right now, and I can't roll it!! It sticks on the surface, even if I use icing sugar, and if I try to lift it it strechs a lot!!! How can I prevent this????
I'll cry if i can't do it!! That's for someone else and I NEED to achieve it!
PLEEAAASSSEEE HEEELLPPP MEEE!!
hope I'll have a very quick answer...
thx!!!
corn flour (cornstarch) may also help instead of using powdered sugar (confectioner's sugar). Don't use too much or it will cause cracking.
1st....BREATHE! there IS an answer
2nd...yes, adding more sugar will make it stickier.
use the cornstarch or even use shortening. from what i know pettinice is pretty soft/stretchy like you said. you MAY want to get some Wilton fondant and just mix some of that in to get it workable (50/50)...along with a bit more shortening.
GOOD LUCK!
